Park Royale
Hudson
Pinellas Park was founded in 1913 by F.A. Davis. His dream was to plant sugar cane fields, produce cane syrup, and build a sugar mill. He found that the soil was too sandy and infertile for sugar cane.
In 1916 he formed the Pinellas Park Drainage District in hopes of salvaging his venture. Unfortunately, he died prior to the work being completed. Even though sugar cane never was a success here, the tall pine trees offered the town an industry for turpentine. It wasn't until after World War II, because land was cheap, that this area became popular.
